Urban Fantasy/Paranormal: Stalking the Others, by Jess Haines

Stalking the Others, by Jess Haines, is book four in the H&W Investigations series. In this book, Shiarra Waynest finds herself teaming up with the White Hats in a race against the clock. Has Chaz's pack-mate infected her with lycanthropy? If so, will Shiarra be able to accomplish her deeds before she turns and the White Hats kill her? Does  her hunter's belt have ulterior motives? And what is she to do about Alec Royce?

This book picks up with Shiarra's escape from Alec Royce's. Unsure of whether or not she has been infected by one of the Moonwalkers, Shiarra is trying to figure out what life will have in store for her and what she must do. She finds safety with the White Hats and decides to work with them for a common goal. Epic battles and love/power struggles ensue, but the book has a "happy ending."

As with the other 3 books, I really enjoyed this one. The storyline is nicely woven with the internal struggles of the characters and Shiarra's uncertainty about working with the White Hats. The back-stories of the characters also unfurl throughout, and the sexual tension between Alex Royce and Shiarra continues its swell. All I can say about the ending of the book is, finally! Yep, that's it. Finally!

On a scale of 1-4, I give this book a 4. I have really enjoyed the series and can't wait to see what adventures are in store for these characters.

This book was published by Zebra Books and will be available to the public in July.
